The Courage to Start Again

The Courage to Start Again

There’s a quiet kind of bravery that doesn’t get enough credit.

It’s not the kind that shows up in movies or comes with a finish line.
It’s the courage to begin again.
And again.
And again.

Even when you’re tired.
Even when you’re scared.
Even when the voice in your head says, “What’s the point? You’ve already failed.”

But here’s the truth:
You never really fail if you keep going.
You just learn.
You gather wisdom in your scraped knees, lessons in the rubble, and grace in the places where you once thought you were broken.

The Fear That Held Me Back

For most of my life, I let fear drive the cart.

Fear of failure.
Fear of not being enough.
Fear of looking foolish if I dared to want more.

And that fear?
It didn’t always stop me—but it sure slowed me down.
I would start something… get excited… see a flicker of hope…
And then sabotage it before the dream had a chance to breathe.

Why?

Because deep down, I didn’t believe I deserved success.
Not yet. Not until I was better, more perfect, more “together.”

It took me over 50 years to unlearn that lie.

To realize that progress isn’t about never falling—
It’s about becoming someone who knows how to get back up.

Starting Over Isn’t Failure—It’s Growth

Now?

Now I see every “false start” as part of the journey.
Every restart as a sacred act of rebellion against the part of me that wants to stay small.
And every time I pick myself up and dust myself off, I whisper,
“We’re not done yet.”

If that’s where you are right now—feeling stuck, feeling behind, feeling like you’ve failed one too many times—let me tell you something…

You haven’t failed.
You’re learning.
You’re evolving.
You’re becoming.

And that takes more strength than anyone realizes.

A Simple Ritual for New Beginnings

If you need a gentle push forward, try this:
✨ Light a candle.
✨ Hold a stone in your hand—maybe Clear Quartz for clarity, or Green Aventurine for hope.
✨ Say this out loud:

“I am not starting over. I am starting from experience. And I am allowed to try again.”

Let that truth settle into your bones. Let it root.

The Sacred Act of Beginning Again

So here’s to the ones who keep showing up.
The ones who’ve fallen and gotten back up more times than they can count.
The ones who are brave enough to begin again—not because they have to,
but because they can.

You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.

And every time you start again, you’re doing sacred work.

With all my heart,
